Strong neighbourhoods are important to the health and well-being of our whole city. When neighbourhoods thrive, the people who live there thrive too. Neighbour Day now provides the opportunity for Calgarians to celebrate our community spirit, kindness and resilience through the pandemic.
One way the Applewood Park Community Association is recognizing Neighbour Day this year is by having you, the Applewood residents share your gratitude through Art. We ask you to join along with your neighbours in creating sidewalk chalk art representing your gratitude for your neighbours in Applewood Park. This can be done on foot pathways in the neighbourhood, at the Applewood Park Community Association Park or at your own home.
All artwork must be appropriate for public viewing by all ages; no lewd, graphic violence, gore, nudity. No political messages, works or symbols intended as advertising may appear in the image.
If you would like to participate in the festival please fill out the entry form and the APCA will drop off a package of sidewalk chalk at no cost. However, feel free to use your own chalk as well. Please fill out the entry form by June 17, 2021 to allow the association enough time to get your chalk out to you.
Share your art on social media on the Applewood Park Neighbours Facebook page and on other social media platforms by using #yycNeighbourDay #APCANeighbourDay If you would like the association to share for you on social media, please provide your submission on or before June 19, 2021 to i[email protected].
We look forward to seeing all your gratitude for your neighbors coming alive through art around the neighbourhood.
